Raipur, Oct 23: Complying with the order of the Election Commission, Chhattisgarh government has removed all the hoardings put up by it displaying its achievement ahead of the December 1 poll while DAVP has sought time for removal of central government's billboards, election office sources said here today. The EC had ordered on October 13 to the state government to remove all its hoardings in ten days time and the state government has informed the state election office that it had removed all the hoardings, the sources told a news agency here. In the entire state, 1241 hoardings were put up displaying the achievement of the state government in various fields but with the order of the commission all these hoardings have been removed, the state government said. Meanwhile, on the hoardings by the central government, DAVP has sought more time to remove them and keeping that in mind all the district collectors have been informed by the State Election Office to remove that from their fund and a bill may be sent to DAVP for payment, the sources said. BJP took objection to the state government hoardings in the state ahead of the December one poll as they said it contains promotional matters, along with the photograph of the Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, which violates the model code of conduct.
