Nationalist Congress Party on Saturday hinted at joining People`s Alliance if it clarifies its policies and denied joining the ruling BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). To finalise the alliance in forthcoming Uttar Pradesh elections, NCP has appointed an eight-member committee that would be headed by P A Sangma. NCP leader Tariq Anwar accused Congress party of following a one-point programme of installing Sonia Gandhi as Prime Minister of the country and said his party would sacrifice everything to protect the honour of the country. Explaining the reason why he, along with Sharad Pawar and P A Sangma were expelled from congress two years ago, Anwar said it was an irony that a party which fought for more than six decades to oust Britishers from India was now trying to install a leader of foreign origin as Prime Minister.
