Congress preparing draft for Shimla Convention
Shillong, June 21: With the Shimla Convention of Congress beginning on July 7, the task of preparing a draft on `the Congress and people-oriented governance` has been entrusted to a sub-committee headed by P R Kyndiah, MP from Meghalaya.

A letter from AICC general secretary Oscar Fernandes to
Kyndiah, which was released to the media here today, said
Congress president Sonia Gandhi had appointed Kyndiah as the
chairman of the sub-committee comprising P M Sayeed, H R
Bhardwaj, Jaipal Reddy, Arjun Sengupta and Jairam Ramesh to
prepare the draft papers on the topic.
Kyndiah was asked to get in touch with the chairman of the Central Coordination Committee Pranab Mukherjee to work out a time frame to complete the task.
The Congress president had announced at the recently-held Congress chief ministers' meeting in Srinagar that another Panchmari-type camp would held. Accordingly it was decided to organise a conclave at Shimla from July 7 to 9 next.
Mukherjee has been appointed chairman of the central coordination committee, the letter added.
