Kolkata, Nov 21: Abhijit Kale, at the centre of a bribery allegation for earning a place in the India `A` team, was today suspended by the Cricket Board which has also ordered an inquiry into the charge. Announcing this here today, BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya said Bar Council of India chairman D V Subbarao has been appointed by the Board as the commissioner of inquiry.
He has been given 15 days` time to give his report to the board.
After the report of the commissioner is received, it would be referred to the Board`s disciplinary committee, Dalmiya said.
The decisions have been conveyed to kale and all affiliated units of the Board including the Maharashtra Cricket Association to which Kale belongs.
Dalmiya said the inquiry was ordered after the board received a written report from two national selectors, Kiran More and Pranab Roy, late last night and a legal opinion was taken on the matter.
