New Delhi, Sept 01: Indian server market has posted a revenue growth of 33 per cent in the second quarter of 2003 compared to the year ago period, IT research firm Gartner said on Monday.
"The Indian market has seen significant growth in revenues especially from the Intel based servers in the first half of 2003," Vinod Nair, hardware and system research analyst, Gartner said in a statement.
Gartner said constraint budgets in the tough economic situation had squeezed the server market last year and the transition of preference to mid range servers and thereby higher price bands also contributed to better revenues for vendors this year.
Server revenues in Asia Pacific outside Japan totalled $1.21 billion during Q2, with China maintaining its lead in the region for server revenues, grabbing a 31 per cent market share.
India is the fourth largest server market in the region after South Korea and Australia.
