Nasik, June 08: Commercial establishments in Nasik city, Nasik Road and Vihitgaon areas remained closed today due to Nasik bandh called by opposition Shiv Sena-BJP to protest series of murders in the city, including killing of five members of a family at Belatgavhan-Shivar near here, two days back. Maharashtra deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal, minister of state for home Rajendra Darda Airdashed here this afternoon and visited the area where Trimbak Eknath Satote, his two sons, a daughter and a guest were massacred by a six-member-gang. A woman and her young son were also injured in the incident and were being treated.

Meanwhile, Special IG Aurangabad, P T Lohar has been transferred to Nasik as new city police commissioner replacing Prakash Pawar.

Bhujbal announced a financial aid of Rs 1.75 lakh to the next of the kin of Satote family after visiting the hospital to inquire about the health of the injured.
He said that government has taken a serious note of series of murders and growing crime in the city and as the first step city commissioner has been transferred.

He said that Mumbai Police has been asked to assist city police probing murder of Vikumal Shroff, the Dubai-based businessman, shot dead by two unidentified persons on lam road, as the killers might be from outside.
Police protection has been provided to Shroff's relatives in the metropolis, Bhujbal added.

He said that ADG K K Kashyap would review preparations for the forthcoming ‘Kumbh-mela’.
