AP govt transfers IGP, other senior officials
Hyderabad, Oct 08: In wake of reports of intelligence failure after the attack on the convoy of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Tirupati, the government today transferred A Shivshankar, IGP (intelligence), official sources said here tonight.

D Durgaprasad (IPS), presently working as managing director in Aptransco, has been made IG, intelligence.
The government also appointed a new city Police Commissioner R P Singh in place of M V Krishna Rao who was transferred to State Highway Safety Authority. Shivshankar, who came under attack in wake of intelligence failure following attack on the convoy of Chief Minister at Tirupati on October 1, was made managing director of Apsrtc in place of R P Singh.
The city north zone DCP m V Ramachandra Raju was made Superintendent of Police (SP) Chittoor in place of Navin Chand who was placed under suspension after the incident. The Chief Minister survived an attempt on his life when naxalites triggered claymore mines on the Tirupati Ghat Road on October 1.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Tirupati, N V Naidu, was also transferred and directed to report before the DG & IGP, headquarters, here.
