Jalalabad, Nov 05: Two rockets slammed into
Jalalabad Airport in Eastern Afghanistan, an official said.
The rockets, fired yesterday, landed in an empty area
inside the airport perimeter, Hidayat Ullah, a local security
official told over telephone. No one was hurt and no damage
caused in the attack, he said.
He gave no other details, but blamed Taliban insurgents and al Qaida for the attack. Afghan officials often accuse members of al Qaida or the country's former Taliban regime - ousted in a U.S. led operation in 2001 - for such attacks. However, they rarely offer any evidence to back their claims.
