Rameswaram, Mar 12: Forty one fishermen, who had been detained by the Sri Lankan government after they were abducted from mid sea by fishermen of the island nation, were released last evening, official sources said today. The sources told reporters here that 16 of the fishermen were from Pudukottai district and the rest from Nagapattinam district. They were abducted in February and early this month for allegedly crossing the international border and fishing in Sri Lankan waters, the sources said. Twenty seven Indian fishermen are still in the custody of the Sri Lankan government. Bureau Report
