Kanpur, July 13: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati today urged dalits and weaker sections of society to provide majority to Bahujan Samaj Party at the Centre and various states for getting "justice and employments". Addressing a public meeting at Rampur Bhimsen village, Mayawati said BSP had joined BJP and its allies on two major issues of maintaining law and order and overall development of the state despite differences in their ideologies.

Criticising the Congress rule in Centre and state till 45 years after the independence, she said that during congress regime, no developmental works were taken up for the dalits and minorities. She also accused the Kalyan Singh-led BJP government of stopping all developmental work in the state.

Mayawati said during her ten and half month rule she had brought 12,625 villages under Ambedkar gram Vikas Yojna.
She said that Congress and other political parties had not taken any interest for the upliftment of dalits and minorities and had used them as their "vote bank".

Political parties having "manuwadi intention" had damaged the interest of minorities, she said.

Mayawati, who is national vice-president of BSP, also ruled out any change of the party leadership in the state and said that K K Sachan has been appointed as state BSP president and would remain leader of the party in Uttar Pradesh.
Some BSP activists were involved in groupism, she said adding, Bhagwati Prasad Sagar, a former state minister and Rajaram Pal were disobeying the party's instructions and both had to face defeat in the last assembly elections.

Mayawati urged party activists to work for strengthening the BSP.
