Bangkok, Oct 21: In the tradition of maps highlighting the homes of Hollywood stars, Thailand is offering tours trailing world leaders who are in Bangkok for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation APEC) summit.
The "Following the Footsteps of APEC leaders" tour will track where US President George W. Bush sipped spicy seafood soup, China's Hu Jintao watched the royal barge procession and in which palace Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej hosted the 21 regional leaders.
A one-day tour taking enthusiasts through the paces marked out by the leaders during their summit here which begins Monday is being designed by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), said an official.
Day-long tours costing 399 baht (10 dollars) will run over weekends in November and December, taking in sites such as Government House, the glittering Chakri Throne Hall and the royal barge museum, the TAT official said.
Leaders will hold one of their retreats at Government House and be granted a royal audience with King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit at the throne hall, which is usually strictly off-limits to the public.
The programme will also take tourists to the Royal Thai Navy's auditorium where the leaders will savour a gala dinner and watch an unprecedented evening procession of the 52 royal barges.
