Jammu, Feb 02: Police today foiled an attempt to resort to terrorists strikes in Jammu by arresting two militants belonging to Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit in Pouni Chak border area along International Border, 25 kms from here.

Pakistani army manning launching pad across International Border, pushed two militants trained in that country into Pouni Chak area in Jammu district early today, Inspector General of Police, P L Gupta told reporters.
One AK rifle, four magazines, Rs six lakhs in Indian currency, two Chinese pistols, 120 rounds and a satellite phone were recovered hidden in the cavities of two cricket bats, Gupta said.


"This is the first incident of smuggling into Jammu and Kashmir, currency and weapons hidden in bats from across the border," he said. The militants have been identified as Mudassar Wani of Shopian in south Kashmir and Dilawer Ahmed Code named Zabiulla of Banihal area of Doda district, Gupta said adding that further interrogation is on.
