New Delhi, May 17: A Delhi court today extended the police remand of Kashmiri scribe Ghulam Mohideen Bhat, booked under Pota for alleged links with militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen, by eight more days. Designated Pota judge S N Dhingra sent Bhat to police custody till May 26 after sleuths of the special cell, which arrested him, submitted that they needed to take him to Srinagar for further interrogation. Bhat, who runs a local news agency by name Kashmir Press Service, was arrested on May 9 on charges of receiving funds on behalf of the pro-Pakistan outfit and remanded to five days police custody.
Police claimed to have recovered Rs 6.5 lakh from Bhat's possession, which they alleged received the money from near the walled city in the capital. They also claimed to have recovered a wrist watch with an in-bulit camera, a mobile phone and Chinese pistol and magazines from him. Delhi police during a raid of Bhat's residence, claimed to have recovered several documents, showing his alleged links with the outfit. Bureau Report
