Jaipur, June 29: Awaiting an official permission for his US trip to attend an international Rajasthanis' conclave, state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said the Vajpayee government should not sit "idle and irresponsive" on his proposed official tour to New York from July 4 to woo NRIs to the state.
"I do not imagine why the Prime Minister, who has returned from China, was not giving either yes or no to my tour clearly," Gehlot told a press conference at his residence.
"Since the state government moved mine and my three cabinet colleagues' proposal to the Centre seeking permission, no communication was heard as of now," he said.
"I am going to Jodhpur tomorrow morning, and if I get the clearance from the ministry of external affairs we will proceed," he clarified.
