New Delhi, Nov 07: Arguments on framing of charges in the Nitish Katara kidnapping-cum-murder case in which Vikas and Vishal Yadav, the son and nephew of Rajya Sabha MP D P Yadav are the main accused, were completed today in a Delhi court.

After hearing the arguments, additional sessions judge S N Dhingra fixed November 20 for orders on framing of charges. The court also made it clear that if the accused wants to make any written submission it has to be made before Nov 18. Vikas and Vishal are accused of kidnapping Nitish from a marriage party and then murdering him in February this year in Ghaziabad. The Supreme Court on August 23 had transferred the trial proceedings from Ghaziabad to Delhi on a petition filed by the victim's mother Neelam Katara alleging that fair trial was not possible there. The UP police had filed the chargesheet in Ghaziabad court against the accused in April, but the Apex Court had stayed the trial proceedings following the transfer petition.
Nitish, a friend of Vikas Yadav's sister, was allegedly kidnapped and murdered after a marriage party by the accused.
The counsel for the accused persons contended that there was no evidence to connect them with kidnapping the victim and later murdering him.

Vikas is also an accused in the murder case of ramp model Jessica Lal.
