Indore, Sept 21: Union Commerce and Law Minister Arun Jaitley today attacked Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh for his allegation that RSS is making bombs and said he is raking up such issues to divert people's attention from the core issue of development.
"The development was grossly overlooked in the last 10 years of Singh's rule. The state is lagging behind in investment due to the fact that it has very poor infrastructure facilities which discourage the investors," Jaitley said while delivering a lecture on the topic
'Development of MP - Vision 2010' here.
He said the Chief Minister is levelling baseless allegations about RSS' involvement in making bombs. This bomb issue is being raked "to divert people's attention from the core issue of development," he said. Development would be a major issue during the coming assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, he said, adding that 10 years of Digvijay rule is a "lost opportunity."
"Even the state government's claim that the population is stabilised in the state is due to the fact that there is an increase in the mortality rate and nothing else," he said.
The growing population of the country can be an asset if it is converted into knowledge resources in view of the fact that due to the huge shortage of skilled people in countries like USA, Indian population would be a major attraction for these countries in the coming years, he said. Bureau Report
