Guntur, Apr 09: Suspected naxals of the outlawed People's War Group (PWG) blew up the small Gudipudi halt railway station on the Guntur-Nadikudiline section in the district early today, police said. However, no one was injured, police said.

The walls and doors of the single room station building were damaged and tickets were strewn all over, police said. The station was manned by halt agent Satyanarayan, who is a commission agent and not a railway employee, police said adding he had locked up the station in the night and gone home.

Naxals had blasted Tummala Cheruvu railway station and Podgula railway station in the district in November last. Bureau Report
