New Delhi, Feb 07: In a pre-poll exercise in Orissa, AICC president Sonia Gandhi has approved the list of a pradesh election committee, headed by former chief minister Janaki Ballabh Patnaik and inducted 15 additional office bearers in the pradesh Congress committee. The Congress chief also put in place a nine-member pradesh disciplinary committee with Srikant Mahapatra as chairman.
The high profile election committee includes names of party veterans like leader of the opposition Ramakanta Mishra, former chief minister Nandini Satpathy, Hemananda Biswal, Giridhar Gomango, K P Singh Deo, Kanhu Charan Lenka and Sarat Patnaik.
The other members of the election committee are: Srikant Jena, Jagannath Patnaik, Ananta Prasad Sethy, Prakash Chandra Debata, Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, Jayanti Patnaik, Sushila Tiriya, R C Rath, Bhakta Charan Das, Jaydev Jena, Uatlub Ali and all frontal organisation chiefs.
The additional office bearers of the PCC, whose names were announced, are: Ananta Prasad Sethy (VP), Laltendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, Saraswati Hembram, Rasanand Mohanty and Kailash Acharya (all gen. sec.), Suvendu Mohanty, Mohd. Fouji, Bana Bihari Pahi, Bansidhar Biswal, Gajendra Das, Bijay Kumar Routray and mr. Gajendra Das (all secys), Chiranjib Biswal (treasurer), Soumya Ranjan Patnaik (chief spokesman)and dr. Govinda ? Bhuyan (spokesman).
