Poor show by Indian shooters
New Delhi, June 05: Indian shooters continued with their lackluster showing as Commonwealth Games gold medallist Samresh Jung finished poor 24th in the men`s 10m air pistol event while his compatriots Jaspal Rana and Raunaq Pandit were placed low down the leader board at the ISSF World Cup in Zagreb (Croatia).
New Delhi, June 05: Indian shooters continued with their lackluster showing as Commonwealth Games gold medallist Samresh Jung finished poor 24th in the men`s 10m air pistol event while his compatriots Jaspal Rana and Raunaq Pandit were placed low down the leader board at the ISSF World Cup in Zagreb (Croatia).
Jaspal Rana and Raunaq Pandit gave a dismal performance and were placed 32nd and 59th respectively.
In the women`s 10m air rifle event, the 10m air rifle event, Suma Shirur ended at the 7th place while ace shooter Anjali Vedpathak Bhagwat finished lowly 15th.
According to information received here today, in a very tough field in which most of the shooters were vying for a slot for the next year`s Olympic Games, Jung, Rana and Pandit spoiled their chance of qualifying with a poor scores.
Jung scored 577 out of 600,while Rana scored 575 and Pandit 568. However Samresh Jung`s score was three more than what he had achieved at the world cup in the USA, last month but that was a poor consolation.
