New Delhi: Chinese authorities are planning to cut the carbon emissions by almost 18 percent by the year 2020.

The state council has claimed that coal consumption must ideally be capped at about 4.2 billion tons in the year 2020.
China has taken a leading role in climate change talks and its collaboration with the United States has been touted by Washington and Beijing as a bright spot in an otherwise strained relationship.
