Taliban draw UN attention to Russian interference
Taliban have renewed accusations against Russia of interference in Afghanistans internal affairs and have drawn the UN attention towards the intervention, reports Taliban controlled Bakhtar news agency.
“Russia is regrettably interfering in the internal affairs of Afghanistan and is making efforts to impose more sanctions on the Afghans through baseless propaganda campaign,” a senior Taliban official Mulla Abdul Jalil Akhund told the visiting UN coordinator for humanitarian aid to Afghanistan Erick De Mull in Kabul.
The acting chief of political affairs of Taliban foreign ministry said that Taliban have taken various steps to cooperate with the United Nations.
The agency quoted the UN coordinator as terming the decree of Taliban supreme leader Mulla Muhammad Omar on banning poppy cultivation as positive and step saying the
negotiation on the issue is continuing which would hopefully produce positive result.
He said that donors want to enhance their aid keeping in view the existing conditions in Afghanistan. He said that delegation from different countries would visit Afghanistan.
He said that ground has been paved for supply of relief goods to Afghanistan by different international agencies and organisations particularly the United Nations.
