The Pakistan Muslim League has decided to observe October 12 as a black day to protest the military rule in Pakistan even as the government has warned of serious action against those doing so.

In order to express their indignation against the military rule and suspension of the democracy, the Pakistan Muslim League has asked its members and workers to fly black flags in the country and wear black bands on October 12, the day when Gen Pervez Musharraf took over control of the country by removing and arresting Nawaz Sharif suspending the senate the national and the provincial assemblies.

The Home Minister Lt Gen Rtd Moinuddin Haider, however, warned that the government would not allow the observance of the black day.

He warned that action would be taken against those who will violate Section 144 and bring out processions or organize public meetings.
