The Indira Gandhi National Open University will start a one-year Post-Graduate Diploma Course in Hospital and Health Management from January 1, 2001. The programme will be launched by the university's school of health sciences in collaboration with the Academy of Hospital Administration, New Delhi. The programme, a 32-credits, multi-media package, would emphasise practical training component and 50 per cent of the credits would be devoted to hospital-based training. For the purpose of practical training, the learners would be attached to teaching medical colleges or large hospitals with qualified and experienced hospital and health administrators. The programme would be open to the graduates from various systems of medicine such as modern medicine, homeopathy, alternate system of medicine, B SC (nursing) personnel and pharmacy graduates working in hospitals. Requisition for supply of prospectus should reach the IGNOU office by December 8, 2000, and the last date to receive the filled-in application forms with necessary documents is December 22.
