Thai police is working on to establish whether Vijay Daman, injured in a shootout by gangsters here last week, is actually underworld don Chhota Rajan even as the Mumbai police has sought his handing over for questioning. Thai police has decided to take the fingerprints of Daman, suspected to be Chhota Rajan who had entered Thailand on fictitious identity, and match these with those sent by the Indian police, 'The Bangkok Post' reported on Saturday. The Thai police has also received information on Rajan's background along with his photographs from the Mumbai police which would be needed to ascertain whether the Daman was actually Rajan, The Post said. An Indian jeweller, Rohit Verma alias Michael d'Souza, was killed and his wife Sangeeta Sharma and Daman were seriously injured when about 10 gunmen barged into the businessman's house last Friday and opened fire. Both the wounded are being treated at an undisclosed place under tight police protection. Media reports quoting police sources said the Mumbai police had requested Thai police to hand over Daman to them for questioning. The request was apparently sent by the Indian police in a letter to the Royal Thai Police through the Interpol. Bureau Report
