South Korea notched the first world record of the Sydney Olympics in Sydney on Saturday after their women's archery team beat their own combined team score world record set in Atlanta. Placing first, third and fourth in Saturday's ranking round, the South Koreans recorded a combined score of 1994, 10 points higher than their 1996 record of 1984.
Kim Soo-Nyung recorded a score of 671 out of a possible 720 to grab the top ranking while teammates Kim Nam - soon and Yun Mi-Jin followed with a score of 662 and 661 respectively.
The rankings determine the draw for the women's individual elimination round, which begins on Sunday. They also make South Korea favourite in the women's team event. Bureau Report
