Jammu and Kashmir government will close down only such PSUS as have no scope for revival and every possible effort would be made to run the traditional industries which are employing a large number of workers, State Minister for Industries and Commerce Mustafa Kamaal said In Srinagar on Thursday.
“The government will not liquidate the sick PSUS except where such units already stand closed and the government will also seek the advice of experts before taking any final decision with regard to the closure of any unit,” he told reporters.
“Safeguarding the interests of the employees would be given first priority,” the minister added.
“The government was ready to run all such PSUS as are at least able to meet their own expenses. However, the units with no scope of revival will have to be closed for financial reasons,” kamaal said. Bureau Report
