In a noble gesture, the army has condoled the death of foreign militants in encounters with security forces in the Kashmir valley in the recent past.
The army extends its sincere condolences to the bereaved families of the 58 foreign nationals killed between July first and September 30 this year in different clashes with security forces across the valley, a defence ministry spokesman said.
He said that these militants, mostly Pakistani nationals belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jash-e-Mohammadi, Hizbul Mujahideen, Al-Badr, Jamait-ul-Mujahideen and Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, were psychologically brainwashed to tread the path of extreme violence by Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI). ''The tragic end of these militants was but a foregone conclusion and it is sincerely hoped better sense will prevail amongst those still alive to shun violence for the betterment of Kashmir,'' he added. It is the second time the army has released list of militants killed in clashes with security forces and also expressed condolences. Bureau Report
