The workers union of nine leading ancillary manufacturers of Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) on Monday threatened to join the wage agitation with Maruti Udyog Employees Union (MUEU) if the workers' demands were not met within 72 hours.

The ancillary units include Bharat Seats, Mark Auto, Machino Plastics, Jai Bharat Maruti, Capparo Maruti, Sona Koyo Steering System, Sona Somic components and Asahi safety glass, MUEU treasurer and spokesman G.K. Walia said in New Delhi on Monday.
''The all Maruti ancillary units union have appealed to MUL Managing Director Jagdish Khattar to resolve the wage-related dispute within 72 hours. In case the issue is not settled, they have also threatened to join the agitation,'' Mr Walia said.
''The workers union in these companies have also agreed (to us) to go on strike if our demands are not met,'' MUEU General Secretary Mathew Abraham said.
They have called for immediate withdrawal of the good conduct undertaking. ''They have stated that the ancillary units have been hit by the loss in production at Maruti plant and want speedy settlement of the issue.'' Bureau Report
