In continuation of its crackdown on bookies in the state, Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police has arrested six bookies involved in betting on one-day cricket matches taking the total number of those arrested to 19 within the last three days, STF sources said. One car, four mobile phones and Rs 35,000 in cash were recovered from the bookies who were arrested on Tuesday, sources said. Those arrested included Gurnam Singh, Basant Mohan Singh, Bharat Raj Lalwani, Amarjit Singh, Suresh Agarwal and Uma Shanker, they said. On October 29, STF had arrested 13 bookies following raids in Lucknow, Agra and Kanpur and busted a racket involved in betting on one-day matches. Bureau Report
