Central Government has declared six highways of Uttar Pradesh as National Highways, state's PWD Minister R D Tripathi has said. The union surface transport ministry in its notification on October 12 declared 20 highways of different states as National Highways out of which six are of UP, he told reporters in Allahabad. He said that NABARD had approved the construction and repair work of 700 roads in the rural areas of the state and Rs 100 crore had been sanctioned for the same in the initial stage. Bureau Report
