Security has been tightened along the Indo-Nepal border in Bihar in view of intelligence reports about ISI agents making a frantic bid to spread fake currencies in the state, an official spokesman said.
“The measure has been taken following the arrest of some ISI agents and afghan nationals and seizure of huge fake currencies in different parts of the state recently,” he said.

The Central Intelligence Bureau had provided detailed information to the state government about the infiltration of ISI agents into Bihar from across the border and their deliberate and planned operation for spread of fake currencies, he said.
“Extra vigil was being maintained in Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Araria and east and west Champaran districts bordering Nepal,” he said.
“Keeping in view the intelligence reports, the district officials of Bihar had already held meetings with their counterparts in Nepal and chalked out a comprehensive strategy to check ISI activities and their entry into Bihar,” he added.
Close vigil was also being kept on movement of ISI activists and smugglers on the borders, the spokesman added.
