AHMEDABAD: In an accident that took place on Tuesday morning, at least 26 people died in Gujarat's Bhavnagar. The incident took place near Ranghola on the Rajkot-Bhavnagar state highway.

The accident happened when a truck skidded and fell into a drain. Media reports suggest that the truck was carrying a marriage party when the tragedy happened.


The injured have, meanwhile, been rushed to the hospital. The police are at the accident spot, supervising the rescue operations.


Expressing condolences, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and said, "My condolences to all those who lost their loved ones due to an accident near Ranghola in Gujarat. The accident was extremely unfortunate and anguishing. May those who have been injured recover at the earliest."
