AHMEDABAD: With the Gujarat polls less than two weeks away, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will be back on the campaign trail in the poll-bound state on Wednesday.

Rahul will kick off a two-day campaign tour in the state with a visit to the Somnath temple. He will also visit Gir Somnath, Amreli and Bhavnagar districts where he will interact with people and hold public meetings.


Here's the travel plan of the Congress vice-president on Wednesday:


12:30: Arrive at Diu airport and will leave for Somnath via chopper
1:00 pm: Darshan at Somnath Temple, District Gir Somnath
1:30 pm: Swagat at Somnath Temple Exit Gate, District Gir Somnath
3:00 pm: Corner Meeting at New College Ground, Bhesan, Assembly: Visavadar, District Junagadh
4:30 pm: Corner Meeting at Vaayam Mandir Aakhada Ground, Assembly: Savarkundla, District Amreli
7:00 pm: Public Meeting at Forward School Circle, Amreli, District Amreli


This will be his sixth visit to the state since the Assembly elections dates were announced on 24 October.


On the second day of campaigning, Rahul will begin his rallies with a public meeting in Lathi. 


He is also likely to visit the cities of Dhasa, Gadhada, Barvala and Vallabhipur. 


Rahul will have another public meeting Botad and he will complete his campaign with a sabha in Nari Chokdi in Bhavnagar.


The two-phase Gujarat elections will take place on 9 and 14 December, while counting of votes is scheduled for 18 December. 


Eighty-nine seats of Saurashtra and south Gujarat region are going to polls in the first phase, while the remaining 93 seats in the central and northern region would vote in the second phase.


The Congress is seeking to dislodge the BJP from power in the state, which the that party has ruled for over two decades now.
