New Delhi: After undergoing a complex yet successful treatment, Britain's first double hand transplant patient is looking forward to pick up a bottle of beer.


Chris King, 57 lost his both his hands, except thumb, in a horrific accident involving a metal pressing machine at work three years ago. According to The Associated Press, he is the second person to receive a hand transplant at a specialist centre at Leeds General Infirmary and the first in the country to have both hands replaced.


Fighting back tears of joy and excitement, Chris said: “They look absolutely tremendous."


Mark Cahill, Consultant Plastic Surgeon Professor, said that Chris has now started feeling a bit of movements in the transplanted hand.
