Swine flu cases in India see startling rise, 345 succumb to disease this year
The report further mentions that India has witnessed 345 deaths due to swine flu till May 7 this year as compared to 265 deaths in 2016.
New Delhi: Swine flu has taken a toll on the health of people in India as the country saw 345 deaths due to the disease this year alone.
As per a report in Hindustan Times, most parts of the country is under the grip of swine flu with the southern states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka worst hit.
Both the states account for more than 55% of all the cases.
The report further mentions that India has witnessed 345 deaths due to swine flu till May 7 this year as compared to 265 deaths in 2016.
As per WHO, the country witnessed worst outbreak of the disease in the year 2009-10, when more than 50,000 people were affected.
