New Delhi: You've heard a lot about foods and their role in assessing weight loss. Some work very well whereas some don't. Whatever the feedback might be, we all know that diet actually plays a key role in weight management.


 


Diet when combined with physical activity can help you burn fat even more and help you lose those extra kilos in a healthy natural way. Here are some foods that have been considered as secret weapons for weight loss:


Beans



Beans and legumes - lentils, black beans, kidney beans – aren't just tasty, but can be beneficial for weight loss due to their high protein and fiber content in it. Protein and fiber are two nutrients that promote satiety as well as boost metabolism.


Fish



Oily fish like salmon and tuna are incredibly helpful when it comes to burning fat. Both salmon and tuna are great sources of omega-3 fatty acids that are good for you. Omega-3s not only help grow your hair and nails, they also stimulate a protein hormone in your body called leptin, which boosts your metabolism and regulates your appetite.


 


Whole grains



Some whole grains like brown rice, oats, quinoa are loaded with fiber and complex carbohydrates. They also contain a descent amount of protein as well. These healthy grains makes us feel full for longer period and therefore cuts down the amount of food we take.

Grapefruit is loaded with fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, lycopene and can help you lose weight. Researchers found that naringenin, an antioxidant derived from bitter-flavoured grapefruit and other citrus fruits, may cause the liver to break down fat while improving insulin resistance.


 


Grapefruit can also help you feel more satiated and eat fewer overall calories.
