Hyderabad: Hubby fakes wife`s death to claim Rs.1 crore insurance

The couple was living in the Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: In a bizarre case, a man here tried to fake his wife's death in order to claim an insurance amount of Rs. 1 crore, a media report said on Saturday.

The couple was living in the Banjara Hills area here.

However, the insurance company grew suspicious over the husband's claim and reported the matter to the police.

On investigation, the wife was found to be alive and taken into police custody.

A search is also on to nab the absconding husband.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against the couple for submitting fake death certificate and documents for the insurance claim.
