Hyderabad: A high profile sex racket was busted in Hyderabad's posh locality Banjara Hills on Thursday. The cops have also arrested three people accused of running the racket.

Three women, including a Russian, were "rescued" by the police. The other women are from Delhi and West Bengal. The women were promised a daily allowance of Rs 16,000.


The chief accused – Kurian Tharayil Jacob – is a a real estate businessman, informed the Commissioner`s Task Force. Other two accused persons are – Yamala Mery, a resident of East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh and Bihar-based Pankaj Kumar Mandal.


Jacob used to bring the female sex workers from Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and also Russia on agreement for payment of Rs 16,000 per day. Mery and Mandal would bring in customers.


The accused persons were running the sex rackets from two houses in Banjara Hills. 


In 2011, Jacob was arrested on same charges. He, however, continued his activities after coming out of jail.


The cops also rescued Rs 40,000 cash, six mobile phones and a passport. A fourth accused is still absconding, said sleuths of Commissioner`s Task Force.
