3 CRPF jawans killed in encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh`s Bijapur
While one CRPF jawan was killed at the site of the encounter, the other succumbed to his injuries later.
At least three personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxals in Keshkutul area of Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. A villager also died in the cross firing between the forces and the Naxals.
While one CRPF jawan was killed at the site of the encounter, the other succumbed to his injuries later. According to sources, a backup party was also been dispatched to the site of the encounter.
The CRPF personnel of the 199 Battalion were on an area domination operation when they were ambushed by the Naxals.
The personnel who were martyred have been identified. They are--ASI/GD Mahadeva P (50) a resident of Karnataka's Gulbarga, ASI/GD Madan Pal Singh (52) a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh and Saju O P (47) a resident of Kerala's Idukki.
A pick-up van came in the area when the encounter was on between the forces and the Naxals, when a villager in the vehicle suffered bullet injuries. He later succumbed.
