New Delhi: In a significant move, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, during a cabinet meeting convened after December 5, approved a major decision. The decision entails granting state employee status to four lakh contractual ('Niyohjit') teachers, marking a crucial milestone. The cabinet, in its session, gave the green light to a total of 29 agendas, underscoring the government's commitment to addressing key issues.

In the wake of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's commitment to regularize the state's 4 lakh contractual teachers, the education department has formulated the requisite regulations. To secure government employment, contractual teachers must successfully complete a competency exam administered by the Bihar School Examination Board. Notably, those who have previously cleared the Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE) conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will be exempt from such an examination.
