New Delhi: The Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh is set to witness the 'Star vs Royal' battle in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as on Saturday Congress nominated Himachal Pradesh Minister and party leader Vikramaditya Singh to contest the polls against bJP candidate and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut.

Congress has released the list of 16 candidates for the Lok Sabha polls and has named Vikramaditya Singh from Mandi and Vinot Sultanpuri from Shimla(SC) seat in Himachal Pradesh. The party has also nominated candidates for 4 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat, and 9 in Odisha and Chandigarh.


Earlier today, Himachal Pradesh Congress chief  Pratibha Singh on Saturday said that the party has agreed upon Vikramaditya's candidature from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat against BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut.


Talking to reporters Pratibha Singh said, "Discussions were held on the 2-3 names that we shortlisted. It depends on the high command, on Mallikarjun Kharge what names they approve." 



Speaking about the Mandi constituency she said, "All our senior leaders believe that this time a young leader should be fielded. So, a consensus has been reached on the name of Vikramaditya. The names will be finalised soon."
