New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Tuesday (March 2, 2021) afternoon closed the Ghazipur border, hours after it reopened a portion of NH-9 for the traffic movement.
The one side of the National Highway (NH)-9 which goes towards Ghaziabad from Delhi was opened for traffic around 2 AM on Tuesday.
The stretch has been closed since January 26 when violence broke out during the farmers' tractor rally in Delhi on Republic Day.
This is to be noted that thousands of farmers have been protesting against the Centre's three new farm laws since late November 2020, at various borders of the national capital.
They are agitating against these three laws - the Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act 2020; and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
