  Anjum Ara got total 27606 votes for the post of mayor from Darbhanga Municipal Corporation. The nearest rival Dharamsheel Gupta got 19981 votes. He won by about seven thousand votes. On the post of Deputy Mayor, Nazia Hasan got 27596 votes while her nearest rival Archana Jha got 22411 votes. The Deputy Mayor's victory was by about 5 thousand votes. On the other hand, Prem Bhagat won the post of chairman from Singhwara Nagar Panchayat and Deepu Kumar won the post of deputy mayor. Sunil Kumar Mahto from Bharwara Nagar Panchayat won the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Awadhesh.
