    With this silver medal, Bhavina became the first medal winner for India in this edition of the Games.

  • Delhi: Delhi Jal Board (DJB) Vice Chairman Raghav Chadha Sunday inaugurated water purification plants capable of dispensing 500 litres of water every hour at two schools.

    As per a statement by DJB, the reverse osmosis (RO) plants at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, F block, Inderpuri and Sarvodaya Kanya Vidayalaya, C block, Naraina Vihar, will fulfill potable water demand of about 11,000 individuals.

  • Delhi: With a view to make metro accessible for transgender passengers, the DMRC has allowed them to use toilets which were till now meant only for disabled commuters, officials said on Sunday.
    Transgender commuters who wish to use gender-based toilet as per self-identified gender can also continue to do so, they said. At present, Delhi Metro has 347 such separate toilets across its stations, a senior official said.

    "In its efforts to provide safe space and prevent gender discrimination against transgenders, Delhi Metro on a priority basis has designated its existing toilets meant only for 'Divyangjans' so far, to be accessible for the transgenders too," the DMRC said in a statement. (PTI)

  • Afghanistan: The Taliban on Saturday ordered Afghans to hand over vehicles, weapons, ammunition and other government property to concerned authorities. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid issued the directive on Twitter, reported Geo News.

    "Announcement by the security of the Islamic Emirate: All those in Kabul city who possess vehicles, weapons, ammunition, or other government property, are being informed to handover the said items to the relevant authorities of the Islamic Emirate within a week in order to avoid any legal action against them," wrote Zabihullah.
