Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday reviewed the current flood situation and preparedness of Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala to deal with the monsoon. He held a meeting through video conference with chief ministers of these six states.

In other news, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday wrote a letter to Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee and urged her to take steps to undo justice being done to West Bengal farmers.

Meanwhile, former IAS officer Shah Faesal, who launched his political party Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement (JKPM) in 2019, stepped down as the president of the party on Monday. He is likely to re-join the Jammu and Kashmir administration.
