Rajasthan reports 1,145 new COVID-19 infections, total increases to 45,555

According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 2,02,02,858 samples have been tested up to August 2 with, 3,81,027 samples being tested on Sunday.

  • Haryana: State registers 654 new cases and 7 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total tally rises to 37,173. The death count is at 440.

  • Goa: 286 new cases were reported today. Total cases surge to 6,816, of which, 1,884 are active cases and 56 deaths.

  • Rajasthan: State reports 1,145 new infections and 13 deaths today, taking the total number of cases to 45,555. The active count stands at 12,785.

India's COVID-19 tally crossed the 18-lakh mark on Monday, just two days after it went past 17 lakh, with 54,735 cases being reported in a day, while the recoveries crossed the 11-lakh mark, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The total coronavirus cases surged to 18,03,696, while the death toll climbed to 38,135 with 771 people succumbing to the disease in a day, the data updated at 8 am showed.


The recoveries have mounted to 11,86,203, while there are 5,79,357 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country presently.


The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients has risen to 65.76 percent while the fatality rate has further dropped to 2.13 pc, the data stated.


The total number of confirmed cases also includes foreigners.


This was the fifth consecutive day that COVID-19 cases have increased by more than 50,000
