India`s total tally of COVID-19 cases touched 1531669 on Wednesday with the death toll over 34,000, as many as 48513 new cases and 768 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

  • Jharkhand: State reports 226 new cases, 77 recoveries and 5 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total cases surge to 9,894, of which, 4,061 are recoveries, 5,734 are active infections and 99 are COVID-19 deaths.

  • Maharashtra: 9,211 new cases were reported in the state today. The total number of positive cases rises to 4,00,651, of which, 1,46,129 are active cases and 14,463 deaths.

     

  • Uttarakhand: 279 new infections take the total to 6,866. The numbers of active surged to 2,945.

     

  • Punjab: 568 new infections and 25 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in the state now stands at 14,946 that includes 10,213 recoveries and 361 fatalities.

  • 91 new COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh; tally rises to 1,330. (PTI)

  • Thiruvananthapuram Corporation has announced that it will continue to be in lockdown with certain relaxations in non-containment wards from midnight of July 28 until further orders. All shops shall keep a time slot from 4 pm to 6 pm dedicated only to senior citizens. (ANI)

  • Chinese health authority said on Wednesday that it received reports of 101 new confirmed Covid-19 cases in the Chinese mainland on Tuesday, including 98 locally-transmitted cases and three imported ones. (IANS)

  • Odisha's COVID-19 tally breached the 28,000-mark on Tuesday with 1,215 new cases, and the death toll climbed to 154 as seven more patients, including a five-year-old boy, succumbed to the infection, a Health department official said. (PTI)
