COVID-19 LIVE: Maharashtra reports 3,874 new cases, total surges to 1,28,205; toll at 5,984

With the highest single-day spike of 14,516 new cases in the last 24 hours, the Covid-19 tally in India crossed 3.9 lakh mark on Saturday (June 20, 2020).

  • Maharashtra: The total increases to 1,28,205 after 3,874 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. There were 160 new deaths in the State that took the death count to 5,984. Around 64,153 people have been cured so far.

    Mumbai:  Total - 65,329. Toll at 3,561. 
     

  • Kanwar Yatra in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana to be postponed amid prevailing COVID-19 situation.
     

  • Telangana: 546 new COVID-19 cases take the total number of cases to 7,072. The death count stands at 203 after 5 new deaths were recorded today.

  • Faridabad: Total COVID-19 confirmed cases rise to 2,100 out of which 477 are still active. Death count at 52.
     

  • Andhra Pradesh: 491 new cases and 5 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of positive cases rise to 8,452 while the death count is at 101.

  • Maharashtra Police: There are 986 active cases of COVID-19 in Maharashtra Police while 46 personnel have succumbed to the virus to date.

     

  • Kerala: Highest single-day spike of 127 positive cases reported today. There are 1,450 active cases now.

     

  • Tamil Nadu: 2,396 new cases have been reported in the State today taking the total number of positive cases to 56,845, out of which 24,822 are active cases.

    38 deaths took the death count to 704.

As per the Ministry of Health data total cases in India surged to 3,95,048 which includes 1,68,269 are active cases while at least 2,13,831 people have been cured of the infection.


The number of Covid-19 death toll in the country has increased by 14,516 new cases in the last 24 hours.


Maharashtra, which has emerged as the worst Coronavirus-hit state in the country, has so far recorded 1,20,504 cases, including 5,751 fatalities, and 60,838 recoveries. Tamil Nadu followed with 52,334 cases. The Covid-19 tally in Delhi has crossed the 49,000-mark with as many as 49,979 cases recorded so far in the national capital. Gujarat has reported 25,601 cases so far.


India is the world's fourth worst-hit nation in terms of a total number of confirmed cases it is just behind the US, Brazil and Russia.
