India made a calibrated exit from the lockdown in non-containment zones on Tuesday even as the pandemic appeared growing unabated with a record rise of about 10,000 new cases pushing the nationwide tally to 2.66 lakh and the death toll nearing 7,500. Restaurants, malls, and religious places reopened on Monday in various parts of the country.

  • Mumbai breaks Wuhan's record. Total 51,100 positive cases registered to date in Mumbai whereas the death toll has reached 1,760. 58 deaths reported in Mumbai in the last 24 hours. 

    Wuhan in China reportedly has 50,340 cases.

     

  • Maharashtra: 2,259 new cases and 120 deaths reported in the State today. The total number of cases in the state is now at 90,787, including 42,638 recovered, 44,849 active cases, and 3,289 deaths.
     

  • Gujarat: In the last 24 hours, 470 fresh cases and 33 deaths were reported. The total number of positive cases in the state rises to 21,044 including 14,373 cured/discharged and 1,313 deaths
     

  • Tamil Nadu: 1,685 new cases took the total count to 34,914. Record 21 deaths in 24 hours took the toll to 307.

    Chennai- 1,242 new cases; total 24,545.
     

  • Karnataka: 161 new cases reported in the last 24 hours that took the total count to 5,921. Over 3,248 still active. Total COVID-19 deaths stands at 66.

     

  • Himachal Pradesh: The total number of COVID-19 cases is now 437 including 184 active cases, 237 recovered and 5 deaths.

  • Uttar Pradesh: 389 new COVID-19 cases reported in the state in the last 24 hours.

  • Himachal Pradesh: 8 new positive cases today. Total COVID19 positive cases in Himachal Pradesh rises to 429 including 197 active cases, 223 recoveries and 5 deaths.

  • Delhi: One more death Delhi police personnel due to coronavirus. Inspector Karmaveer Singh died due to the infection. A total of 5 policemen died due to coronavirus in the national capital. 
    Karmaveer was admitted to the Army's base hospital, he was the driver of ACP Seelampur. He was tested positive on June 2.

     

  • Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia after State Disaster Management Authority meeting: Officers of Central Government were present at the meeting and they said that there is no community spread in Delhi as of now.

  • Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's sample has been collected for COVID-19 test.

  • Rajasthan: 144 new coronavirus cases reported in the state, total tally rises to 11020 which includes 2587 active cases, 8182 recovered cases and death toll 251. Recovery rate stands at 73 percent in the state.

     

  • Supreme Court asks centre, states to send back migrant workers who are willing to go within 15 days time.
     

  • Delhi LG Anil Baijal has called a meeting of all political parties today at 3 pm to discuss the present situation of COVID-19 in Delhi and measures to contain the spread of the virus.

  • India COVID-19 data in last 24 hours: Highest single-day spike in new cases in 24 hours 9,987. 266 deaths in 24 hours. Recovery rate 48.46 percent.
     

  • India COVID-19 data: Coronavirus cases in India rise to 266,598 which includes 129,917 active cases, 129,214 recovered cases, 1 migrant patient and 7,466 deaths as per the Ministry of Health data.

According to Union Health Ministry figures, the number of confirmed cases across India has risen to 2,66,598 with a record 24-hour spike of 9,987 cases, while the death toll rose by 266 during this period to 7,466. The tally includes nearly 1.29 lakh active cases, while almost a similar number of people have recovered too.


Several states and UTs saw places of worship, shopping malls and restaurants getting reopened, in line with the Centre's Unlock Phase 1 guidelines, though a few including Jharkhand, Odisha and Maharashtra appeared treading cautiously and have not allowed these establishments to restart.


Some states also allowed hotels to restart subject to the prescribed guidelines for social distancing and personal as well as public hygiene measures.


In the national capital also, malls, restaurants and religious places reopened for the public.
