Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and Gujarat have been the severely-hit places in the country.

Uttrakhand reported 105 new confirmed infections after 2 PM today. The total number of cases in the state surged to 907.

Punjab: 30 new positive cases were reported today, taking the total number of positive cases to 2,263. The number of active cases stands at 231.
Tamil Nadu: Record 1000 cases reported in a day in the state. There were 1149 new cases today; 9400 active; total 22,333. Around 4.91 lakh samples tested. The death count surged to 173.

Uttar Pradesh: In the last 24 hours, 262 new positive cases were reported. There are 2,901 active cases in the state and 4709 people have been cured/discharged. The death count stands at 213.

Bihar: 235 new cases reported from the state, total tally rises to 3565. The capital city Patna is continuously observing a surge in the number of cases. Till now 1311 people have recovered in the state.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued new guidelines for the fifth phase of lockdown which is slated to begin from Monday, June 1.
According to the new guidelines, all activities outside containment zones have been allowed to resume in a phased manner from June 1. The guidelines will come into effect from June 1 and will be effective till June 30.
